This
is the view of the top of the trestle. Lush plant-life and vegetation
grow where railroad tracks and ballast once were.
The 97th Avenue
trestle, looking east. The trestle looks like it is in pretty bad
shape. The joints between the steel trestle and the concrete are
starting to come apart. The concrete support beams are starting to
rust, further loosening the concrete.
A
view of the trestle as the tour makes it's way down 99th street.
A garage door was installed under the ROW. We will be seeing more
of these "enhancements" as we continue to Ozone Park station.
