Jamaica
Bay, looking northwest from the subway car. One can see the World
Trade Center in the distance.
Broad Channel
station is the last station before the A-train continues it's trip to Far
Rockaway. This station is built on a desolate stretch of property
in Jamaica Bay. A couple of old fishing piers and houses dot the
landscape. It is eerily peaceful at this station, as one hears the
sound of the bay and the birds calling to each other.
A shuttle train bound for Rockaway Park waits in the distance.
That's the train that we will be taking in order to continue our journey
south.
A cyclone
fence separated the subway ROW from the surrounding property. Houses
and utility poles are in the background.
One
of the many signal towers that are found along the subway route to the
Rockaways.
