This
section of the ROW is very spacious. Besides the two-track main Bay
Ridge Line, spur tracks go off in to the IRT subway yard at this
location.
The NYA locomotive is making it's way to the area for railfan photo
opportunities.
The train is
running on the "northbound" track, as it makes it's approach.
The
tracks in this area are very well kept. The gravel and ballast is
plentiful in this area, and there are no weeds protruding through the track
bed. This are is not representative of the kinds of conditions that
will be seen when the line makes its way under Ocean Parkway in Brooklyn.
There, tires, garbage, and other debris line and impede the ROW.
It's
time to get back in to the train in order to continue the journey to the
next photo location.
