One
of the many signal towers that line the railroad right-of-way in the vicinity
of Oak Point Yard.
Oak Point Yard is located in the South Bronx, New York City. The
yard is not too far away from the northern terminus of the Hell Gate Bridge.
This trestle
bridge carries 149th Street over the yard and the railroad right-of-way.
Box cars are parked under the bridge.
Another
view of the 149th Street bridge, looking geographically north. The
two cement tied tracks carry Amtrak's Northeast Corridor train service
through this area.
A
tower carries the high-voltage wire high over the tracks. An interesting
design, as engineers placed the wire support tower on top of the signal
tower.
