One
of the few "woodies" left in the New York City parkway system. Woodies
once were the predominant highway lighting system used on parkways in New
York City and Long Island. They are becoming a rare breed, since they are
not being replaced after they fall or break down.
This woodie twinlamp is located on the Shore Parkway exit ramp for 67th Street in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. The picture was taken inside the Bay Ridge Yard.
